Rock excavation inside active power generation facilities requires strict regulatory compliance. That means tight control over vibration, access and safety procedures. Palmetto Rock performs infrastructure rock drilling and controlled blasting work in regulated environments where excavation activities must stay within strict operating limits.
We use conventional and electronic detonators as well as continuous vibration monitoring to maintain peak particle velocity (PPV) requirements near sensitive structures and equipment. In areas where blasting is limited or impractical, our crews use non-explosive mechanical excavation methods instead.
